It hurts a little

Dear Editor,

Re: Apples and oranges

I am in Samoa my friend. I live here.

Does that comparison in numbers dishonor you from being a Samoan?

Oh, and what are you doing for our country?

Can you not see through the corrupt dealings of our government in changing the constitution to suit themselves, re-defining constituencies to politicize the office of Head of State, the parliamentary committee report not recognized, abuse of authority by ministers, and that's just last year alone.

It's not about money Jack.

It's about doing the right thing. Have you ever driven around town and started asking around who owns this and that?

Some of the high level political names start coming up. All legal of course, but one wonders about whether there's any conflict of interest in it.

When you work hard all your life doing what's right and fair for everyone, and some just get it through connections then it hurts a little.

That's my beef with the government, son, 'faakaukala'.
