Toa Samoa ‘Have your Sei’

It’s more than just representing Samoa at the Rugby League World Cup tournament.

The Toa Samoa team has gone the extra mile to support the “Have Your Sei” climate awareness campaign.

To these brave young men who will be taking on the Kiwis in their first pool game match this Saturday, the fight against climate change to help their fellow countrymen is no less important than trying to scratch the Kiwis out of the play card.

The Toa Samoa left a mark of support on the “Have Your Sei” campaign by capturing photographs with the organisers of the campaign in the lead up to the C.O.P. 23 climate conference in Bonn next month.

“In many places in the Pacific, a Sei is a flower worn behind the ear. We chose this because we want to showcase the beauty and resilience of Pacific cultures,” stated the “Have Your Sei” news.

“The Pacific region will show the world what true climate leadership is”.

“We will highlight for the world what climate change in the Pacific looks like and how inaction on climate change exacerbates that threat.”

Toa Samoa has been on board with the “Have Your Sei” initiative supporting Climate Change within the Pacific region.

“As Pacific Climate Warriors from across the Pacific region representing various grassroots, frontline and indigenous communities, and with support from around the world, we are calling for world leaders to commit to building a better, more just world for ourselves and for generations to come,” the “Have Your Sei” statement further stated.
