Get ready Samoa to host the longest and most accessible Commonwealth Games 2018 Queen’s Baton Relay so far.
Travelling for 388 days through all 71 nations and territories and covering more than 230,000 kilometres, S.A.S.N.O.C. President, Fepulea’i Patrick Fepuleaí, is delighted that Samoa will be hosting the Baton.
The Gold Coast 2018 Commonwealth GamesTM (G.C. 2018) Queen’s Baton Relay was officially launched at Buckingham Place, London, on Monday, 13 March, 2017.
Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II signaled the start of the Relay by placing her message for the athletes into the Baton.
There will be many thousands of baton bearers who will be a part of the Baton’s journey around the Commonwealth.
The Queen’s Baton Relay is the traditional curtain raiser to the Commonwealth Games and has been an integral part of the Games programme since the Cardiff 1958 Commonwealth Games in Wales.

The G.C. 2018 Queen’s Baton Relay will arrive in Samoa on Thursday, 23rd November and depart on Sunday, 26th November.
The international sector route for the G.C. 2018’s Queen’s Baton Relay is a joint initiative of the Gold Coast 2018 Commonwealth Games Corporation in partnership with the Commonwealth Games Federation and locally, with S.A.S.N.O.C. as Commonwealth Games Association Member.
The working committee, led by Chef de Mission, Nynette Sass, has drafted a programme with details to be released shortly.
The exciting programme will see participation by National Federation representatives, athletes from the various member codes, schools, and village communities, private sector representatives, Government ministries and Diplomatic
