Improving customer service

The Samoa Chamber of Commerce & Industry in collaboration with the National University of Samoa completed a 5 day workshop on Customer Service for Frontline Staff. The workshop was delivered by Tuiloma Sina Retzalff.

The training was made possible through funding under the Samoa In-country Training Programme housed with the Oloamanu Centre for Professional Development and Continuing Education (OCPDCE) from the National University of Samoa.

This training is a result of a need identified by the Samoa Chamber of Commerce through their Training Needs Analysis for its members in terms of capacity building for their Human Resources.

The workshop was attended by 18 participants who were committed to learn and implement effective skills in customer service and improve upon strategies currently in place in their workplace.

Feedback from participants indicated that the workshop was very helpful and informative for their line of work. With the general perception in Samoa that the level of customer service has fallen, the participants were keen to prove this statement wrong.

This was further encouraged by the Samoa Chamber of Commerce CEO Hobart Vaai, who urged participants to implement the knowledge learnt from the training in their workplaces in order to make a difference.
