Ross Worthington is a painter. He does commercial paintings and hangs up wallpapers.

His wife Yvona Worthington works on her little business of scrap booking where she makes cards and stack photo albums.

Ross and Yvona Worthington is a retired couple from New Zealand.

They were looking for a perfect place to relax for their holiday. For them, choosing Samoa as one of their destinations wasn’t something that they had planned.

There was a reason, which drew them to Samoa.

“We used to go to Fiji but we decided that the Sheraton is here and the lovely beach so here we are,” said Yvona.

The Dear Tourist caught up with the pair at the Fugalei Markets.

“We thought we might come in today and have a look at Apia,” she said.

“We started off on the beach because we had an early start on Tuesday and it was a very long day yesterday so we just relaxed around the Hotel.”

The couple say they love Samoa.

“The beautiful sunny weather is nice and warm. The people here are extremely nice, everyone is so nice, well the ones we’ve met already.”

Discovering Samoa is one of their goals.

Part of that includes trying local food.

“I had bananas for breakfast, fresh bananas and they were beautiful,” said Yvona. “I’ll keep what I had last night, oka! It was just beautiful,” added Ross.

“The markets are so big and the churches are absolutely beautiful. We had just passed by a beautiful church during the tour.”

Will they recommend Samoa to their friends?

Absolutely.

“I have already recommended this place to my friends and we will be coming back next year.”
