Samoa’s Talavou Festival guided by the theme “Talavou Talenia, Talavou Manuia” (Talented youth are a successful Youth) officially opened on Thursday night at Peseta.

The exhibition for youth strategically held during the last week of the school term is an opportunity for young people to connect with each other to showcase their different talents.

The idea is to encourage positive fulfillment and to find new inspirations to develop their gifts and talents without the influence of alcohol, drugs or violence.

On Thursday night the programme kick started with Soloists and Duets. Last night’s programme was the Talavou Traditional Dance Group.

Celebration of Talent, Life and Youth is given an incentive to aspire to greater things through Samoa’s Talavou Fest 2016.

This year TV3 in collaboration with the business community is offering the following prizes for the competition:

• Recording Contracts for Solo & Duet Winners

• Trip to the 2017 Polyfest in Auckland, New Zealand for the Traditional Dance Winners

• Trip and Tickets to Watch Selena Gomez Auckland Concert in September 2016

Samoa’s Talavou Fest 2016 will be an annual program. A Talavou TV Show will be launched following this years’ event to be screened on TV3 for 30 minutes each week to be produced by the youth for the youth.
