England has confirmed center Manu Tuilagi's withdrawal from the three-test rugby tour of Australia next month.
Tuilagi was always in doubt after tearing his right hamstring on May 21 in the English Premiership semifinals. A scan on Monday, reviewed by the England rugby medical team, revealed he would not be available for any part of the tour.
England coach Eddie Jones says in a statement on Tuesday "it's bad luck for Manu so close to the tour, but it provides a great opportunity for someone else."
His replacement will be named after the test against Wales on Sunday at Twickenham. England fly out the next day.
