Father makes use of talents: Lauoletole Pelite of Luatuanu’u.

Father makes use of talents: Lauoletole Pelite of Luatuanu’u.

Everyone has been blessed with different skills to look after themselves and their loved ones.

Lauoletole Pelite is no exception.

Aged 55, from the village of Luatuanu’u, he is multi-skilled.

“There are plenty of legitimate ways to earn extra money,” he said.

“Some of these ways include starting your own small business.

“Personally, why do we have to go around frustrated and stressed looking for jobs while we can cook kekepua’a, donuts, popcorn and many others things to sell to earn money?

“If your wife has the ability to mend or press clothing, why bother work for someone else when you can easily do your work out of your home to earn money?

“This is what I’ve learnt from our everyday living.”

Lauoletole is a hard working father.

“At first we sell our hand made products on the road for a living,” he said.

“We budget wisely where we could save up to our next business.

“You see, my wife has not only the talent to cook but also the talent to sew.

“About 4 years on the road, we were able to open another business at our market in town which is my wife’s sewing and elei shop.

“Our market is now going strong, we quit baking but depend on our elei shop where we had everything we have now.

“We don’t just sit around and depend on one way we try everything and look where it got us too?”

He said they are blessed.

“So today, through our hard work our children are able to sow what we reap.

“My family is doing okay with what we do so far, we have everything we need.

The father has a simple massage.

“Consider using your skills to earn money, you surely will not suffer like many other families in Samoa.

“Many people will gladly pay good money for what you do because they know you did it out of your own efforts and self-development.”
