Hard work and faith in God has seen Tiaseu Meripa Eleitino Siaosi Samoa achieve her dream.

This week, she graduated with a Master in Science International Cooperation Policy at the Ritsumeikan Asia Pacific University in Japan.

Tiaseu is the third child of Rev. Siaosi Samoa and Kathy’s seven children. They are from the villages of Vailele and Lona, Fagaloa.

She was educated at Samoa College from 2004 to 2007 before entering the National University of Samoa where she attained her Bachelor in Science.

In 2016, she decided to take on to a whole new level at the Ritsumeikan Asia Pacific University in Japan studying Master in Science International Cooperation Policy for two years.

“It has been one of my dreams to challenge the Master level,” she said.

“Patricia Margot Netzler was the coordinator between Ritsumeikan Asia Pacific University and National University Samoa at the time. She gave me a lot of help and encouragement to make this dream come true.

“I applied and got through.”

She shared: “With the help of my family, my parents, sisters and brothers, I managed to make this dream come true.

“I called it a family team work.”

When asked of her plans when she returns to Samoa, she responded: “I would like to work in an organisation that is related to my field of interest, climate change impacts in small island States.”

She acknowledged everyone for their support, especially her father Rev. Siaosi and mother, Kathy, who serve as Church Ministers at Lona, Fagaloa.

“I would like to take this opportunity to say a big thank you to Reverend Salesulu and my grandmother Mrs. Mulitalo.”
