All the people of Samoa.

Greetings to you all.

Before I begin, let me say that on behalf of the Samoa Observer, it is my duty this time every year, to say thank you Samoa for your unwavering support, for your patience and your understanding, as you have been showing over the years.

As for today, indeed we are all aware that it is  through  Jesus Christ that we've  found who we are and what we are living for.  Long before we first heard of Christ: “He  had his eye on us, had design on us for glorious living, part of the overall purpose he is working out in everything, and everyone.”

Ephesians 1:11

And so once again it’s Christmas, it is that day in the year when all over the world we will put their tools and implements down, and with solemn humility we perform the sacred ritual, of remembering the ultimate sacrifice, that Jesus Christ had made in atonement of iniquities.

And for all of us here at the Samoa Observer, let me reassure you all that without this support of yours, in whatever form or shape we would have been unable, to perform our duty of keeping Samoa adequately informed, to which we have committed ourselves.

Today, as we're looking back on the years behind us, we are grateful that despite the many challenges, we'd faced along the way that threatened to derail our journey, the spirit of the Christmas did not abandon us.

Up ahead, there are bound to be new challenges that are capable of causing us harm, but then once again we put our trust in the Spirit of Christmas, to guide us, and to protect us.

And so let us not despair. Since we do this knowing that even without our asking, He is extending His blessing to us all so that we have nothing to fear, as we’re embarking on our journey into the New Year,  beginning just ahead.

And so today, as we’re once again celebrating the Spirit of Christmas that touches us all, through Jesus Christ’s teachings of humility embodied in the act of turning the other cheek, about giving comfort to those who are in sickness and in ill health, and about giving strength and hope to the poor and the needy among us, we are gratified.

Indeed, we are comfortable that with the ultimate sacrifice, Jesus Christ had made in atonement of man’s wrongs, the unbreakable bond that is continuing to hold the Christians world together up to this very day, will remain.

So as the year draws to a close and with Christmas just around the corner, let me take this opportunity, as the Publisher of your newspaper, the Samoa Observer, to extend to you our best wishes.

However, in hindsight let me take this oppotunity, to say thank you to all those who were able to join us at the celebrations of your newspaper's 40th anniversary, on 24 August 2018.

Thank You.

Our commitment to the people of Samoa remains in 2019.

Soifua.
