The Fire Emergency Services Authority (F.E.S.A.) is investigating a fire that demolished a government house at Fa’atoia on Friday night.
This was confirmed by F.E.S.A. Captain, Aomua in response to questions from the Sunday Samoan yesterday.
“Information provided to us shows that this government housing has not been used for a quite a while,” he said.
“It doesn’t have electricity and so we’ve ruled out faulty wires."
“We think this may be an arson case, however further investigations will determine that and the matter will be handled as a crime.”
According to Captain Aomua, they were able to save other government properties in the area.
He said because of the narrow road, their fire trucks were unable to get to where the fire was.
“Our fire truck could not go through the road, so we parked at the main road and pulled our hoses to where the fire was and eliminated the fire.”
