A concrete water tank is all Ario Sanalilo has for a water supply. The problem is that it is leaking.

Today the 55-year-old mother pleads for help in repairing her water tank.

“This was my old water tank that we bought many years ago because we don’t have access to water on this side of the village,” she said.

“We are far away from everyone else and so I thank God we were able to afford one back then. However over the years the tank has deteriorated and you can tell that it’s falling apart.”

“I don’t think it’s going to be in good shape for that long because the leaks are getting worse and that’s why I need help in repairing it or maybe a new water tank please.”

Ario said she requested for a water tank from a society in Samoa but so far her prayers haven’t been answered.

“It’s just me and my teenage grandson who stays at home because my husband is in Savaii, and you see our home is far away from all the other families.”

Ario’s does not have a stable job to earn money.

“My children overseas are the ones helping us with our food and bills and of course living off island they also have bills to pay too.”

“My husband used to work but not anymore and it’s hard because we cannot afford anything to fix up our water tank and that is all I need help with… for my leaking water tank.” Ario told the Village Voice fixing her water tank is something very important her because this it’s their only source of water.

“I see a lot of families have new water tanks but I’m still waiting to be blessed with one.”
