The Titans Touch Rugby Club held a one day tournament to fundraise for their trip to Fiji on Saturday.

Held at the Marist School field at Mulivai, fourteen different teams from government ministries, private companies as well as other organizations supported the event.

Club member Joyce Samuelu – Ah Leong said their goal is to contribute to the development of touch rugby in Samoa. Playing in Fiji will help achieve that.

“There is an international tournament that will be held in Fiji on the first week of November and our team will participate in that tournament,” she told the Samoa Observer.

“So today we have about 14 different organizations who have participated in this one day event.

“It’s a mixed touch tournament and it is also a way to exercise and be healthy.

“We also have prizes for the winning team as a way to acknowledge their support for our fundraising.

“We also want to shout out to all our sponsors who have supported us in this event as well as our trip.

“We want to thank JPS, Vaitele Spring water, Digicel, Eveni Carutthers, NRL, Bluebird Construction, Apolo Cinema, UN Women, Immunization Programme, SSAB, Cornwall Restaurant, Apia Insurance, KL Security, EMD, MSW Rugby Club Australia, W.H.O and Pinati’s Restaurant.”
