The soon to be opened Taumeasina Island Resort was the venue of a special occasion yesterday.

It was where Nigel Hunt and Virgina Chong-Nee exchanged their “I Dos” in front of families, friends and guests.

Nigel Hunt, a former member of the All Blacks Sevens team, wedded Virgina after being together for thirteen years. The ceremony was held at the chapel at Taumeasina Island Resort followed by a reception there.

The wedding was the first wedding to be held at the soon to be opened five star Resort.

Nigel said the idea to have his wedding at Taumeasina was born when he last visited Samoa three years ago.

“I came here to visit my family and saw that the resort was under construction, and I said to myself that I will be the first one to get married here,” said Nigel.

Nigel is 33, and he is the son of Fuamai Hunt from the village of Vaitoloa. Virgina Chong-Nee is 32 years-old and she is the daughter of Felise and Ofeira Chong-Nee.

The Maid of Honor was Sharlene Foloki and the Best Man was Richard Fiu. The bridesmaids were Ofeira Pule, Katinka Kirisome, Lyna Stack and Pauline Pule.

The Groomsmen were Pati Hunt, Posala Hunt, and Daniel Kilioni.

The flower girls were the couples beautiful daughters, Ofeira Hunt and Tamia Hunt. The Ring Bearer was Nigel Masina.
