Recognising that children are gifts from God is a reminder to us that they must always be our first priority.

That’s the opinion from Faau’uga Setefano, who is 51-years of age from the villages of Leauva’a and Manase, Savaii.

She is mainly concerned for the well being of her children and grand-children.

The mother of four lives with two of her children altogether at Leauva’a while her husband work s in New Zealand under the R.S.E. Scheme in earning money for their family.

“The safety of my children and their future is my main concern now” she said“My husband lives and works in N.Z as do my other two children who are seeking a better future for them and for us as well.

“As a mother, it is my job every day to make sure that my kid’s are attending school to learn new things for them in the future and also for them to know what is up ahead because it it’s our dream for our kids to have a better life.”

Mrs Setefano stays home looking after her two children and does the work for the family every day.

“My kid’s are too young so they can’t do anything.

‘My husband sends some money for our village and church donations every month and so do my children living overseas.

“In this life people do care about money and other stuff but for my family I am just concerned for my children’s future’ she said “Even though we are struggling right now but this is all for our children making sure they can achieve well when they grow up.”.

Her family plans to move to N.Z.

“It’s expensive but it’s for our children’s future.”
