A 34-year-old male from Aleipata has been charged with murder in relation to the death of 45-year-old male from the same village.

The man had allegedly killed him using a 2x4 piece of wood.

This was confirmed by Police Spokesperson, Su’a Muliaga Tiumalu, yesterday.

According to Su’a, the tragedy occurred on Sunday morning.

“The two men had a drinking session in front of the deceased’s house,” said Su’a.

“However, the accused and the deceased had a dispute and that’s when the accused hit the deceased with a 2x4 wood. The deceased died from severe injuries to his skull.”

Su’a said the accused turned himself in to the police.

“The accused is now in custody to await his Court mention on the 27th of this month.”

On a different matter, the Police are also investigating the mysterious death of a 49-year-old male from Aleipata. Su’a said the incident occurred last Saturday morning.
