McDonald’s Family Restaurant has come to the aid of families and businesses affected by the fire at the Savalalo Market.

Yesterday, Charlie Tautolo presented $5,000 to the Samoa Offering Hope (S.O.H) campaign as their contribution.

“I would like to take this opportunity on behalf of the McDonald’s management team to present this cheque,” Mr. Tautolo said.

“I was very glad to be contacted by Adele and her association for assistance and here is our answer.”

Adele is the Chairperson of the S.O.H, Adele Kruse, who was present to accept the donation.

“We appreciate this generous gift put together with all the other generous souls in Samoa,” Ms. Kruse said. “We know we can make a difference. We really thank you and McDonald’s for caring and hearing the call of the nations.”

According to Ms. Kruse, S.O.H has managed to raise $30,000 so far. Fridays is the deadline and members of the public can still donate.

In the meantime, Mr. Tautolo has been very impressed with the work S.O.H has done

“McDonald’s would like to thank you for all that you have done for the Market stall owners and you will continue to have our support,” Mr. Tautolo said.

The initiative for the Flea Market recovery was allotted 30 days and the countdown, which commenced on the 28th of January 2016, will end on the 26th of February 2016.

S.O.H. believes, the power to ‘make a difference’ rests in the hands of our own people, to come together to share their God given blessings with those in need.  No one person or business can be expected to do this; it takes a nation of givers to make a significant contribution to the many families of the Flea Market. The government has their role to play; we the people also have ours.
