For Samoa? Really?

Dear Editor,

Can somebody explain this to me? So they give our taxpayer’s money to Parker without asking us and I get that.

They then give themselves a public holiday at our expense. I’m struggling with that but I’m trying to understand.

And then to add insult to injury, they host themselves a so-called state lunch at our expense without inviting any of us.

What is going on?

If the parade was really for Samoa to celebrate, couldn’t the government invest in some Pinati mixes so that all those hundreds of people on Beach Road could be fed?

I’m sure at $3 a pop, it could feed all those hungry mouths and still cost less than that lavish lunch at a five star hotel whom I’m sure would have been very happy to charge five star prices. Paid by taxpayers of course!
