The family of 64-year-old, Lemaota Mataese, of Tafua, Savai’i is still searching for his whereabouts.

Acting Assistant Commissioner Sala’a Moananu Sale confirmed this yesterday.

“The matter was reported to the police last week Sunday,” said Sala’a.

“According to the family Lemaota went to work on his cattle farm on Saturday evening but didn’t return home.

“The family then reported the matter to the police and they conducted a search for Lemaota.

“The police in Savai’i conducted a search for the 64-year-old from Saturday until today but unfortunately they still haven’t found him.”

His disappearance has become a mystery.

“According to reports from Savai’i all the equipment he took to change his cows are nowhere to be found.

“His family said it is unusual for him to go like this and the distance from where his cattle farm is to the house is pretty close.”

The Police is seeking the public’s help.

“If anyone knows of Lemaota’s whereabouts please contact the police office because his family is very worried.”
