A new era for the Samoa Rugby Union has started.

It began yesterday with the official launching of the new sponsorship and supply agreement between the Union and BLK Sports Ltd.

Held at the Tanoa Hotel Tusitala, Matafeo George Latu of the Samoa Rugby Union said the partnership is a milestone moment for the Union.

“For today it is my pleasure to announce and introduce BLK International as the official apparel supplier of the Samoa Rugby Union for the next four years,” he said.

Matafeo acknowledged the General Manager of BLK International, Josefa Matau.

He emphasized that the Samoa Rugby Union had been looking for an international partner to support its apparel needs.

He said the Union was looking to find the right mix of sponsorship with those who are willing to work and help grow the Manu Samoa brand.

“Unfortunately, our experiences with previous apparel sponsors has not been the best and a happy one where the benefits to the Samoa Rugby Union has not being realized,” he said.

“So this morning I am very excited because I know BLK is a well-established brand internationally, and I know with the partnership with Samoa Rugby Union will bring benefits to both parties.”

Matau said they are very excited to join forces with the Samoan Rugby again.

At the conclusion of the formalities, the new jerseys and sports kits were revealed by the Manu Samoa Sevens contracted players.
