Bluesky lowers calling rates to Fiji after Cyclone Winston

Bluesky Samoa has lowered its calling rate to the Fiji Islands, following the category 5 Tropical Cyclone Winston, which devastated Fiji during the weekend.

The calling rate to Fiji has been slashed from $1 per minute to only 40 sene per minute to call any local Fiji number.

It becomes effective today until Monday 7 March 2016.

Bluesky’s Chief Commercial Officer, Sanjeewa Perera, says the main aim is to make communication to Fiji easier and more affordable during this time of crisis.

“We understand that there is a large Fijian community here in Samoa who are anxious to get in touch with their families and friends back in Fiji to see how they are doing,” he said.

“We also know that there are Samoan students studying in universities in Fiji, and also Samoans working there as diplomats, whose families here in Samoa want to hear from.

“Lowering the calling rate to Fiji is our way of helping to connect these people after last weekend’s tragic cyclone that ravaged the country.”

Bluesky customers will be able to take advantage of the new calling rate from any Bluesky landline or mobile number.
