ENJOYING HER SAMOAN EXPERIENCE: Amanda Tarantino.

Nothing can substitute experience.

That’s how Amanda Tarantino feels about her short but action-packed holiday in Samoa.

Spotted enjoying her green coconut in town, Amanda explains that she is visiting the island from American Samoa.

With just a few days to spend in the country, Amanda had no trouble creating some long-lasting memories to take back home with her.

During an interview with the Dear Tourist team yesterday, Amanda says she is employed as a teacher and now with the school she teaches on holiday break, she opted to find comfort and relaxation in Samoa.

When asked how her visit has been so far she replied “It’s amazing”.

The 23-year-old teacher added her main highlights were visiting some popular tourist spots and interacting with the local people.

“Some of the highlights were visiting the (To Sua) Ocean trench which was simply incredible,” she said.

“I have never seen anything like that.

“It had this amazing, mystical prehistoric feeling to it and the sights were amazing. The best part was meeting the people because I got to speak to some locals over at a beach accommodation fale.

“I forgot where I stayed at but it was just amazing getting to know the people there. I would say that those interactions were a major highlight for me.”

Asked for the difference of the life she has witnessed in Samoa compared to back home, she said the two are completely different and Samoa holds some amazing features.

“In comparison to back home, the land itself is just breathtaking,” Amanda said.

“The beaches are beautiful. Back home the mountains kind of push all the houses along the coast but over here you see these big sprawling forests which is really amazing.”

Amanda says if she had to use just a few words to describe her holiday to her friends back home, she would definitely urge them to visit and experience Samoa.

She described her trip as an experience like no other.

“I would say definitely come to Samoa,” she said.

“It’s an experience like no other. Seeing the town and the people is amazing as well. Thank you Samoa and I hope everyone has a merry Christmas.”

But even with all her wonderful experiences in the country, there is still a lot of room for improvement in regards to making Samoa a little more tourist friendly.

“Maybe more A.T.M.s,” Amanda said while explaining areas that needs improvement.

“More access to cash and things like that would be wonderful. I also find it difficult to make phone calls so I don’t know if that area needs improvement or not here.

“Communication and travel was also a small issue.”
