My wish for beautiful Samoa

Dear Editor,

Savai’i for me has been magic.

The natural volcanic landscapes are breathtaking, the locally grown produce are healthy and scrumptious!

The azure waters have been a tonic to last a lifetime.  Best of all are the welcoming locals who live an authentic life off the land and sea.

I’ve been among about 100 athletes ocean swimming as part of the Samoa Swim Series and the Pacific Open Water Challenge let by Seti Afoa of Samoa Events.  I reckon over the past 2 weeks I’ve swam close to 30kms!

If I would wish good things for Samoan people it would be access to clean drinking water, lower electricity prices, good sanitation and reduced waste – especially plastic.

In years to come a pristine Samoan environment may well be the country’s salvation.

Oh! Id love all for schools to have WIFI hotspots, students and teachers with internet access, i.e tablets.

To Bluesky and Digicel, here’s a challenge for you?

At least make data available to all Samoan schools.

God Bless you all,
