The Samoan handball team lays down their pre match challenge

Samoa Handball Association has announced their upcoming development program for 2016.

Yesterday at Tanoa Tusitala, President of Samoa Handball Association, Rev. Hemi Faaeafaleupolu said that the program for schools will start next July to September.

“We will be holding primary schools and secondary schools beach handball competitions,” said Rev. Faaeafaleupolu.

“Primary Schools age groups; under 14 (boys and girls), under 12 (boys and girls), under 10 (boys and girls) and under 8 (boys and girls).

“For the secondary school levels; under 16 years (boys and girls), under 18 years (boys and girls), under 20 years (boys and girls).

“Top four schools finals and village final tournament will be held at Tanoa Tusitala Hotel Grounds in September 2016."

Trophies will all be sponsored by Tanoa Tusitala Hotel and the venues will be finalized soon.

“End of December 2016 to 1st of July 2017, we will be holding seven legs our inaugural S.H.A. International Invitational beach Handball Fiesta Series to be held throughout Upolu and Savai’i. 

“At this invitational series we will be showcasing this wonderful new sport of beach handball and we will host international class teams from around the world like Brazil who are the reigning champions."

He also thanked the Tanoa Tusitala Hotel, Bank of the South Pacific and the International Handball Association for their continuous support.

The Samoa Handball Association is focused on increasing interest and participation in the Olympic sport with the initiative to introduce and promote handball to youth and the wider community.
