A young man who was last seen attending a family wedding last weekend has been found dead.
The identity of the 19-year-old is withheld for now until all his relatives have been informed about his death.
But an official at the National Health Services told the Samoa Observer yesterday that the body of the young man was brought to the hospital on Sunday night.
“We found that he had suffered from serious neck injuries,” the official said.
“We confirm his death but at this stage we don’t know what happened.”
It was not possible to get an official comment from the Police yesterday. The Police Media Spokesperson was not available when the Samoa Observer called.
But sources said suicide is suspected to be the cause of death.
“He’s the eldest of his parents two children,” a source said.
“All I know is that on Saturday he attended a wedding and he went straight home after the wedding which was held in town.”
The young man was missing until they found him.
“We were told that he was found dead inside the bathroom."
“We are still in shock about what has happened. He was such a nice kid, no one would have thought that this would happen. This is so sad.”
