Meet Tina Taamilo.

The 41-year-old mother from Tufulele.

She lives with her husband’s family, while her kids live in Germany.

She has just returned from a trip to New Zealand.

Tina’s husband works at Yazaki while she stays home to look after the family. Her husband earns a good salary.

“Life is simple if our people work hard but as of now, I see that people are too lazy to go work. How do we develop our family? It is us, no one else”

Tina explains that her family is a happy family.

“I see lots of complaining, people blaming the Government about the cost of living, but what are we doing? Nothing.”

“We have a plantation to work on, we should develop it instead of sitting and complaining”

“The cost of living is high, but that’s how it is. Changes occurs even challenges but we have to face it”

Tina believes a family is more important than anything else.

“I love my family and I’m willing to provide for them in every way I can.”

Her husband and his nieces work and provide for eight members of the family including his mother, and the money they earn is more than enough for the family.

Village and Church contributions are a major part of their lives.

“Even though it’s very expensive but we still do it because we are used to it. Giving is way of life for us.”
