As the exclusive distributor for Under Armour products in Samoa, Eveni Sports welcomed one of the brand’s most high-profile athletes in this part of the world on Wednesday.
Lupesoliai Joseph Parker and his team visited the store on Beach Road, chatted with staff, signed autographs and posed for photos with fans.
The visit was part of the build up towards the Rumble in Paradise at Tuanaimato tomorrow.
Trainer Kevin Barry said Parker is proud to be associated with a brand that is “aggressive” and “ambitious”.
“They are a company that is very powerful in the United States at the moment,” he said. “So we wanted to be with a company who was prepared to go the extra mile and a company who had an ambitious plan.
“So Under Armour have given us tremendous support for the last three years and they have grown enormously.”
For Eveni Sports of I.H.Carruthers Ltd, the visit was a great marketing opportunity.
Since becoming the exclusive distributor for Under Armour in 2013, Eveni Sports has continued to build up a wide range of Under Armour sports apparel, footwear and equipment in Samoa.
“Under Armour is an up and coming brand in the world - signing up rising stars including our very own Joseph Parker and we are very excited to a part of this event,“ said Chief Executive Officer, Alexander Va’ai.
I.H.Carruthers Ltd started as one of the major trading merchants in Samoa in 1929. It has undergone a number of changes as it adapted to the major changes which the Samoan business community has gone through the years.
While it was a major trading merchant in copra and cocoa in the 1950s and 1960s, it has since become a leading apparel business with major elei based brands including Eveni Kids, Eveni Pacific, Koko Pacific, Garlands Pacific and Eveni Sport. It has also become authorised distributors for international brands like Nike, PUMA, Adidas, Horleys and Biz Collection.
