Locally-owned Hyundai Samoa is the official transport sponsor of Rumble in Paradise.

The decision by Duco Events to choose Hyundai ahead of its competitors comes at a time when the company is seeking to bolster its brand image among the Samoan consumers.

This following a significant increase in quality and reliability over the last several years, putting the company on equal footing with its competitors.

The deal gives Hyundai the rights to use the Rumble in Paradise logo and brand in its ad spots, and gives Hyundai one of the lead marketing spots in one the country’s most beloved sport.

"We are huge boxing fans at Hyundai and feel there is no better avenue to reach consumers, increase consideration and tell the Hyundai brand story," said Hyundai Samoa Executive Manager, Simon Fruean.

"With the support of our sister companies Ford Samoa and Blue Pacific car hire we are able to cater for all involved in organising this event.

“We can't wait to show the Boxing fans the great design, advanced technologies, dynamic performance and numerous safety features of our all new model, the Hyundai Creta.”

Hyundai Samoa, which has recently been involved in boxing events, is expected to continue their support for boxing, promoting its brands at such events.

"We value our relationship with Duco, Team Parker and its fans,” Mr. Fruean added. “We love our country and we want to ensure the organizers of this event have their wheels to rumble, we hope Duco events can bring more events such as this to Samoa in the future."

Mr. Fruean added that Hyundai has enjoyed considerable gains in quality in recent years. The brand ranked fourth in the J.D. Power and Associates Initial Quality Study released earlier this month, and its sister brand, Kia, ranked second behind Porsche.

Despite the momentum, Hyundai's product line-up relies heavily on small and mid-size cars while consumers are flocking to bigger vehicles amid cheap gasoline prices.

“Hyundai is proud to be associated with this historical event and wishes both fighters all this best. Let’s get ready to Rumble!”
