Open your mind and understand what it really means

Dear Editor,

Re: Church Ministers outraged by tax law

Where in the Bible does it says “peleti (pledge) is not a salary; it’s a divine portion from God to give straight to the pastor”?

If countries overseas can have the same law, then why are the Pastors in Samoa making such a big fuss about it?

Don’t use the Bible as a “scapegoat” and to try keep the truth from our people in Samoa. No wonder Pastors and their families seem to get “fatter” of the people.

And to those whom disagree, then maybe you better understand the true meaning of Christ Jesus.

He is a Holy Man who served God spreading and teaching the Good Word, and asking for only one thing, your love and understanding for God.

So when the pastors start saying it’s a sin for the government to tax them, maybe they should stop all this rubbish and nonsense and go back and read the Bible and stop putting the fear of a pastor’s word into a person’s mind.

You people in Samoa, should not be fearful of your Pastors, but be fearful of God, because it’s God’s law.

A religion that preaches the Word of God, all have their own doctrines and laws prescribed, which in fact was created by man himself. I quote from the article

“A servant of God works in the spiritual life of people because it’s the fulfilment of God’s commandments,” he said.

“What the people give to church ministers is for God, not for pastors and what people give is sacred, meaning its untouchable.”

He reminded the government that people perished because of the lack of knowledge. “It’s not that if you’re a Cabinet Minister then you know everything,”

These are words to misguide and to put fear into man.

My advice to whoever reads this (agree or disagree) time for you to open your mind and understand the true meaning of what God is all about, not what these faifeaus want you to know. Stop following with a blind heart and start listening with a clear and open mind.

I’ll leave you with a couple of scriptures.

“Knowing this first of all, that no prophecy of Scripture comes from someone’s own interpretation”. 2 Peter 1:20

“Obey your leaders and submit to them, for they are keeping watch over your souls, as those who will have to give an account. Let them do this with joy and not with groaning, for that would be of no advantage to you”. Hebrews 13:17
