The Bank of the South Pacific has donated $5,000 tala and $5,000 worth of merchandise including polo shirts, umbrellas, bucket hats, tents, flasks and lanyards to the organisers of the Samoa Independence Sevens Tournament.

The donation was presented by the Bank’s Business Manager, Michelle Lemisio, to the Committee of the S.I.I Sevens.

“One of B.S.P’s core values is service to the communities,” she said.

“Our modest sponsorship this morning reinforces our commitment not only as the market leader in the South Pacific Banking and Financial Sector but as a committed partner in the community, cultural and sporting activities.

“It is our hope that we are giving a little back to the community by supporting this event to help with the development of youths in their career in rugby.

“Not only that but to help shift the level of rugby in Samoa slightly higher than what it is now.”

Member of the Committee S.I.I Sevens, Tuaena Lomano Paulo, acknowledged the support from the bank.

“I just want to thank the Business Manager and also the General Manager for supporting us through this tournament,” he said.

“I know this will benefit the young men of Samoa who wants to take up rugby as a career and with this partnership with the bank will surely help them with their talent.”

The S.I.I Sevens will kick start next week at Apia Park.
