Poasa Tupou is the latest Fire Knife Dancer to make it through to the next round of the Falatalimalo Siva Afi Challenge.

Tuesday night a full house cheered on Shereton Aggie Greys Resort fire knife dancers Poasa Tupou and Tom Kome Feagaimalii, during Week 6 of the Faletalimalo Siva Afi Challenge.

Poasa edged out young Tom by only a few points, and he will now represent Sheraton Aggie Greys Resort against another Hotel during the preliminary finals.

Mark Francis of Sheraton Aggie Greys Resort was once again in attendance to support his team.

An early supporter of the Faletalimalo Siva Afi Challenge, Mr Francis said “Sheraton is so proud to be involved with the Siva Afi Hotel competition this year; it’s very exciting to see how talented all the competitors are.”

He added, “Samoa needs to get out and support cultural events like this to encourage the young talent to push the limits of their skill.”

The Faletalimalo Challenge has now passed the halfway mark of the elimination rounds. Once the elimination rounds have finished there will be a draw to see which hotel’s fire knife dancers compete against each other during the finals.

The Faletalimalo Siva Afi Challenge takes place Tuesday evenings during the Siva Afi Show, at Ooh La La Ice Cream Bar Matautu.

The overall winner will collect $1000 and gain automatic entry to the International Siva Afi Competition 2017, which will be held in Apia, 30th August – 2nd September.

Next Tuesday April 25, two performers from the Jetover Hotel Savaii will do battle in Week 7 of the Faletalimalo Siva Afi Challenge.

To book a seat for the show, call Siva Afi Entertainment on 752 6128 / 26128.
