Samoa’s National Boxing Squad

The team to represent Samoa in the upcoming Oceania tournament has been finalized. 

Twelve brave boxers had an explosive finish at the Vailima Pound for Pound fight for S.A.B.A 2017, Saturday evening. 

The team features a number of local up and coming boxers such as Vaisilika Tuigamala, Ropati and Manila Hall.  

Boxers who were present for the Fight For Marist II made the trek back to Samoa to compete once again such as  such as Bravely Matau from New Zealand and Ismael Liaina.

Oceania is a crucial milestone in the journey to the international stage for these young boxers as the winner and runner up will automatically qualify for the World Championships in Hamburg, Germany. 

Also, the squad to compete in the Youth Commonwealth Games in the Bahamas has also been a named.  

The selected boxers will go in to camp, Tuesday 16th May 2017, at Marist St. josephs club Lotopa 5.00pm sharp. 

Executives of the boxing association would also like to acknowledge Marist St. josephs club (the president and executive) for allowing their facility to help out team Samoa in their preparation.
