Friends, Andrea Bolzoni and Francesca Siponi are a long way away from their homeland - Italy.

They work as flight attendants for Samoa Airways.

Dear Tourist spotted the pair making their way to town for a feel of the Samoan way of living. Mr. Bolzoni said this is their first time in Samoa.

“So we have been friends for more than 15 years,” he said.

“This is what we wanted, to travel the world together, we are inseparable and so this trip is just amazing because this is our first time in Samoa.

“My favorite part about Samoa is the people.

“They are so friendly and whenever you go past them, they always stop what they are doing just to say hello and that is amazing.

“I mean Samoa is unique in its way like the culture, the way of living, the kind of people and most especially the food.”

Speaking of food, he said his favorite was taro and palusami.

“The taro is just amazing, it’s got that amazing taste and the palusami is delicious.

“I will never get tired of having that, I just wish we had it back home, I know my family would love the taste of it and hopefully next time I come it will be a holiday instead of work.”

As for Francesca, her trip will have to be a short one because she will be on the flight today.

“Sadly I’m working tomorrow (today),” she said.

“It’s a pity, but this is what I do and I know I will be back.

“The culture is what makes Samoa unique and people take pride in their culture and tradition.

“We went and had a look at the flea market yesterday and I was amazed at how talented the Samoan people are.

“I love the wooden carvings of different things and I have bought some to take with me for souvenirs.

“As for the materials, some are very nice and some are synthetic and as a tourist, I would want to buy a material that is natural and has the true Samoan prints.

“I also bought some wrap arounds which is the first time for me to see this kind of clothing.

“All those things I am already missing and at the moment I’m already thinking of how much I will miss this place, especially the people.

“It’s amazing how the internet can work its wonders and before we know it, we are here in Samoa even though the weather hasn’t been good to us but we also like the rain because we love to go outside and enjoy it.

“I’m hoping that the next time I visit Samoa it would be a holiday hence why I am working so hard to save up so that we can come back.”
