This year, the Sister Patrick’s Golden Girls invited two very special Gentlemen, Father Hansell and Tupua Fred Wetzell to attend their End of the Year Function. The vibrant atmosphere at Annabel’s Inn set the scene for a grand afternoon of celebration. Tupua Fred Wetzell was definitely the life of the party, entertaining the Golden Girls with his special and unique charm.
Tupua succeeded at having a dance with each of the Ladies , not leaving one unattended to.
After entertaining the Ladies with a rendition of “Beyond the Reef , he announced that he would not only pay for food and beverages, (as per his usual yearly custom) but that he would also like to donate a substantial amount to the Golden Girl’s Fund.
The Ladies pleaded with him that his company was all they required and that the donation was not necessary, but, he insisted he would do this to honor the memory of his recently departed and beloved wife, Cynthia.
Stories and laughter were exchanged that attested to the strong and enduring relationships between these wonderful and vibrant characters. They remembered friends who passed and no tears were shed as recounts of the wonderful lives lived filled the air with joy.
It was a privilege to be able to surround oneself with women who truly define “sister hood” and men who are the definition of “chivalry” and “charm”. They are the Generation that contributed immensely to our country’s development and they did it with style, grace, passion, commitment, class and most of all humility.
May the Lord continue to bless our Sister Patrick’s Golden Girls.
