Auseugaefa in, Manogiamanu out

Auseugaefa Va’asatia Poloma Komiti has a new role.

He is Samoa’s new Consul heading the country’s Consulate Office in Sydney, the Government Press Secretariat confirmed yesterday.

His appointment was announced at the launching of the Samoa Airways inaugural bi-weekly services to Brisbane in Logan last week.

He takes over from his predecessor and former South Pacific Games chief executive, Manogiamanu Fonoti Ioane. 

The office will be under the overall supervision by Samoa’s High Commissioner to Australia, Hinari Petana based in Canberra

Auseugaefa takes to Australia a wealth of public service experience having worked for government for closed to four decades.

He is a former Chief Executive Officer with the Ministry of Prime Minister and Cabinet as well as Secretary to Cabinet and was Samoa’s Counsellor in American Samoa before his reassignment to Australia.

His priorities is to assist the Queensland Police and liaise with the Brisbane Samoan Community to identify the two Samoans who bad mouthed Prime Minister Tuilaepa Lupesoliai Dr. Sailele Malielegaoi last week in Logan.

He will also facilitate Samoan Airways to promote the national carrier’s flight services to Sydney and Brisbane.
