CONGRATULATIONS: The new title holders of the Tofaeono family.

More than seventy members of the itu paepae of Tofaeono Niuafolau were bestowed different titles yesterday at Vaiala.

There were paramount chiefly titles (igoa alii) and 11 orator titles (igoa tulafale).

In an interview with the Chief of the Sā Tofaeono Family, Tofaeono Vui Fa’atali Leavasā he said the gathering saw many of his family come together.

“It’s been more than twenty years since we have had any new matais to serve and look after our family,” he said.

“I am so happy to see our family come together for this occasion.”

Reverend Lotu Uele of the C.C.C.S Church at Vaiala conducted the ceremony to bless the new holders.

“A family that is guided by God’s love is a happy family,” he said. “You have been chosen today to protect your families, village and church."

“You have been chosen to serve your family with love, protect them and guide them.

“Serve your family with all your might and make sure that God will never forsake us.”

The formalities were followed by a huge family feast enjoyed by everyone.
