Govt., Village Councils

Re: Role of Village Council critical

I couldn’t agree more with Pitolau. But it is the Village Council that should be an example for the country, not the police department.

The police department is part of the government a new establishment of maintaining law and order.

But the matai system was and still the true Samoan way of solving problems and maintaining law and order for peace and security in our country.

Although lately, many villages were divided into two because the matais lost their callings, lost sight of who are and whom they should be, instead of being a solution, matai councils became a problem.

You matai should advice the government and their ministries including the Police Department.
