Football Youth league ends

Football Federation Samoa hosted Prize Giving on Saturday 16th September at its premises to conclude the annual Youth League tournament which started in April of this year.

The annual youth league tournament cater for three divisions includes an under 9 mix, under 14 boys and girls, and u17 boys and girls.

Prize giving started with an opening prayer by Rev Muao Fagasua Su’a of the CCCS Vaitele Uta followed by the keynote address by Asiata Palota Asiata.

Youth league is seen as placement to develop young footballers. More than twenty teams registered in this tournament with FFS hoping to increase the number annually. 

 

National League

While Youth League wrapped up the annual National League tournament kicked on Saturday morning. The Upolu national league tournament is an annual activity moreover the most important tournament in FFS calendar of events.  The winner of the main division which is the premier men’s will represent not only the football community but Samoa as a whole in the Oceania football confederation champion’s league. 

The tournament is divided into three divisions includes the Men’s Premier, Women’s premier and men’s first divison. Thirty six teams from registered local clubs in Upolu participating in this year’s tournament intending to run for 8 weeks. 

The Upolu National League comprises of clubs in Upolu.

Under 9 Mix: all 13 teams received equal prize money of $300.00

4th place: Lepea FC $200.00

3rd place: Sogi SC $300.00

2nd place: Faleasi’u $400.00

1st place: Vaivase tai SC $600.00
