Christine Walker and Linda Hendra from New Zealand have had the time of their lives in Savai’i.

Although it was their first time on the big islandi, the ladies are definitely no strangers to Samoa as they have visited our shores before. This is their third visit.

And they specifically wanted to explore the amazing wonders of Savai’i.

“We’ve been to Samoa before but we mostly stayed down at Upolu,” Christine said.

“We wanted to come to Savai’i this time because we heard it was beautiful.

“Everyone says if you go to Samoa; you must go to Savai’i and we said we’d come back so here we are.

“We’ve been everywhere; we’ve been down to the Blow holes, the waterfalls, the lava fields and we went around the cape the other day.”

They even had a chance to swim with the turtles at Sato’alepai.

According to the two best friends; every year they have a holiday with friends.

“We always come together and we leave our husbands at home. They send us away and we love it because it’s wonderful and so relaxing.

“I mean my first impression of Savai’i was that it was beautiful, it really is beautiful. The weather was hot, very hot but it’s a little bit windier this time over here.

“There was a guy who showed us the Star mounds.

“We swam up there and it was just stunning. We should’ve been there at night to see the sunset because I reckon it’s fantastic but it’s a long ride back.”

The fun all began from Upolu for them and they couldn’t get over it.

“Stevenson’s is a really cool place,” Linda said of their accommodation at Manase.

“The staff is fantastic; they were helpful and the food was amazing.”

“They make the most amazing omelet. The chef makes the most amazing omelet. I could sponsor him in my restaurant; Cooks Bar and Grill in Wellington.

“I’ve loved their raw tuna, the poke. I love it.”

According to the ladies; there’s something special about Samoa that makes them come back for more.

“We spend a lot of time in Fiji but you know Samoa, it’s just clean when you’re driving through the villages and you feel the beautiful gardens.

“The care that people take in their garden and stuff is just lovely.”

Both women are planning to bring their husbands next time they visit the beautiful islands of Samoa.
