Chamber works to promote marketing skills for private sector

In collaboration with the Samoa In-country Training Programme of the Oloamanu Centre for Professional Development and Continuing Education of the NUS, the Samoa Chamber of Commerce hosted the Advanced Marketing and Communications training from the 13-17th March at the Samoa Stationery and Books Ltd Conference Room at Saleufi.

The 5 half day course focused on building the skills and capacity of senior marketing and communications staff by developing  effective marketing plans to implement in the workplace.

The training was delivered by Susan Piket of Barbican Training Centre Limited from New Zealand with 11 participants from various businesses and organizations within the private sector.

Feedback from participants indicated that the workshop was very helpful and informative for their line of work.

Raymond McCarthy, Centre Manager of South Pacific Business Development stated, “I found the training to be very good – the trainer did a great job and I learnt a lot about how to develop marketing plans”.

Betham Brothers Enterprise Agency Representative, Palestina Pita, found the workshop very informative “this training was very useful – it provided the basics on how to plan marketing and reach target consumers.

Branding is very important for any business and it is good to look on ways to improve this”.

The Samoa Chamber of Commerce would like to acknowledge the development partners, NZMFAT and AUSDFAT, through the Samoa Education Sector Plan budget support to the NUS, as well as the SICTP Manager, So’oalo Sydney Faasau and his team for making this training possible.
