With the annual Fa’amati just a few weeks, Island Rock Company Limited was the place to be on Saturday.

There, Tuaopepe Asiata Wallwork and his hardworking staff had something for everyone.

“We want to make the load lighter on our people and here at Island Rock, we have lots of specials going on,” he said.

And the response from members of the public for their early bird Faamati specials has been amazing.

“People were seen lining up from around 3 o’clock this morning (Saturday). We were here the whole night preparing for this.

“It was crazy we had people all the way from Lefaga who came early just to get their vacuums, ovens, cell phones and so much more.”

Not only with the early bird specials, the company also gave the chance to people who want to sell their products but don’t have the space anywhere to do it.

“As you can see we gave the car park space to anyone who wants to use the area to sell their products,” said Tuaopepe.

“The space is free of charge and whatever they want to sell they can come here and do it.

“There’s a family there who is selling barbeque as well as sausage sizzles, on the other side is people who are selling second hands clothes there.

“So it’s crazy and it’s like a one stop shop where customers can just come for the early bird special and they come out and buy barbeque or if they see some clothes that really like they can get it here.”

A couple from Gagaifolevao, Lefaga Malaesilia Letalie and Ana Misa said that they came around 4 o’clock in the morning because they wanted a vacuum and an electrical oven.

“When we got here at that time there were people already lining up and waiting patiently for the doors to be opened,” said Malaesilia.

“We manage to get our electrical oven as well as our vacuum and it’s cheap so we are very happy.

“I know our faamati shopping is all done now because we all got it from here at Island Rock.

“Not only that but a hot barbeque so thank you Island Rock for all your help.

“We know that the shop is not getting any profit from this special but they are willing to help the people of Samoa so thank you.”

Tuaopepe went on to say that this will not be the last time Island Rock will be having faamati special.

“There will be another early bird special in two weeks time all because we want to help the people of Samoa,” he said.

“I also encourage whoever wants to sell their products on this day to come on down to Island Rock Company and sell your products here free of charge.

“So contact our shop if you want a space on this day.”
