A follow up of the Primary Mathematics and Science Project (P.M.S.P) for this year started on Tuesday with a workshop for 11 primary school principals in Savai’i.

It was held at the Salelologa Library.

Hiroshi Ishii, a lecturer from Hokkaido University of Education, Hakodate Campus conducted the training.

The school principals were reminded of “School-Based Continuing Professional Development”.

Another workshop is planned for 22 school principals in Upolu this Friday, 19 February 2016 and it will be held at the M.E.S.C. Aute Conference room, Malifa from 9am to 1pm.

This will be a good chance for the participants to observe the presentations from the P.M.S.P. taskforce.

Moreover, five H.U.E. (Hokkaido University of Education) students will visit Samoa to help short-term experts (Science and Mathematics) at workshops. They will also learn about the Samoan culture and traditions through school visits as well as staying with local families on the big island of Savaii.

The H.U.E. students will also visit the J.I.C.A. Samoa office on Tuesday morning (Feb. 22nd) with an exchange program with N.U.S. Japanese language course students to be held on Thursday morning (Feb. 25th). Other workshops for P.M.S.P. will take place next week, from Feb. 23rd – Feb. 26th.
