Don’t be fooled - Apology in order

Dear Editor,

Re: Don’t be easily fooled P.M. says

“About claims that customary lands are under threat, Tuilaepa said it was foolish to compare Samoa to New Zealand and Australia.

“In New Zealand the land belongs to the Maoris yet they are not running their government.”

Currently in New Zealand, the land belongs to all New Zealanders.

A highly divisive comment such as this made by the P.M. does little to keep the multicultural diversity alive and well.

What it does is insult all the beautiful hard working Pacific island people that have done the hard graft to build lives, buy property or businesses and call themselves New Zealanders.

Having a Government Figurehead making such an opinionated comment is a huge disappointment.  We cannot change the actions of the past, we can only move forward and attempt to address grievances caused by our ancestors.

Sounds to me like he should be making Eliota Fuimaono -Sapolu his deputy P.M.
