Alcohol a factor in deadly Ululoloa crash

A 26-year-old man who died when his car crashed at Ululoloa last Saturday morning was heavily intoxicated.

This was confirmed by the Police Media Officer, Su’a Lemamea Tiumalu. The 26-year-old male from Sinamoga was died as we was being taken to the hospital after the crash.

One of the first people to arrive at the scene who spoke to the Samoa Observer anonymously said what had happened woke all of them up that morning. 

He said there were three people in the vehicle including the driver.  “When I got to the front, another vehicle was there to take the deceased to the hospital while the other two passengers were very upset,” he said.

The source said the reeked of the smell of alcohol when they arrived to help. 

“We didn’t know what kind of injuries he sustained but his face was covered with blood and he was rushed to hospital right after.”  He said they found out the driver had died soon after.

The vehicle was removed the next day, said the eyewitness.
