It’s the truth

They’re at it again.

All the self-proclaimed media experts on social media have come out of the woodworks once more to criticise 60 Minutes for its coverage of the rape at the Treesort last year.

The criticism range from the lack of professionalism, sensationalism to the absence of ethics and what have you. Whatever.

Even Barbara Dreaver hasn’t been spared.

Tell you what; we would have such a vibrant media body in Samoa if these people were actual media people.

But they’re not.

So let’s see, what exactly is 60 Minutes crime here?

The facts are quite straight-forward:

Fact 1: A tourist was raped in front of her husband in Samoa

Fact 2: The rape and torture was done a prisoner who should have been behind bars. That’s where he belongs.

Fact 3: Samoa promotes itself as paradise and a safe place for tourists.

So what’s all this nonsense about 60 Minutes being sensational and unethical?

It’s the truth. Deal with it.
