Training tackles business management

Seventeen partipants in a Business Management training are ina better position to understand basic concepts of business management.

The participants completed the five-day training provided by the Samoa Chamber of Commerce and the Samoa In-country Training Programme of the Oloamanu Centre for Professional Development and Continuing Education of N.U.S.

The training was delivered by Susan Piket of Barbican Training Centre Limited from New Zealand.

The participants came from various businesses who took part and many gave positive feedback. 

Moira McFarland, Manager of McFarland Group stated: “I learnt how important it is to monitor and review every aspect of my business.” 

The Samoa Chamber of Commerce C.E.O, Lemauga Hobart Vaai, urged the participants to implement what they had learnt.

 “One of the key failures of a business is due to lack of financial due diligence and basic management skills which you have learnt this week,” he said. “So I challenge you to go out and activate what you’ve learnt this week for the success of your business or employer.” 

The Samoa In-Country Training Programme Manager, So’oialo Sydney Faasau congratulated the participants on completing the course.  

“The Samoa Chamber of Commerce would like to acknowledge our development partners, NZ M.FA.T and AUS D.F.A.T, through the Samoa Education Sector Plan budget support to the N.U.S, as well as the S.I.C.T.P Manager, So’oalo Sydney Faasau and his team for making this training possible.”
