The death of a 16-year-old girl from Lotoso’a Saleimoa is now the subject of a Police investigation.

This is according to Police Media Spokesperson, Auapa’au Logoitino Filipo, who said the matter was reported to them last week.

Auapa’au said the deceased was reported before to Police because she was involved in a matter on 28 March, 2018.

It was from that point that the Police noticed that something was wrong with the young girl, he said.

“The Police questioned her about her situation and she said that she had just finished drinking weed killer,” he said.

“Police officers rushed her to the hospital and she was discharged on 1 April, 2018. She later died on Thursday last week.”

Seawall attack

In another matter, Police have arrested two young men and are still hunting for the third person.

The trio are believed to have attacked a young man from Mulifanua at the seawall in Apia last week.

Auapa’au says the victim was at Seana Bar that night and when the bar closed, he walked towards the seawall waiting for the early morning bus to return to Mulifanua. While he was resting on the seawall, three young men attacked him and threatened him with a knife to give them his shirt, money and shoes, he said.

“The victim works as a bus driver assistant for Taeaomanino Transport.”

Savalalo attack

In a similar matter, Police are still looking for three young men who attacked another man at the Savalalo Flea Market in Apia last week.

Auapa’au said the victim was buying a cigarette from a shop at the market when three young men approached him. The other man took his money from his pocket.

“He was begging them to give back his money,” when he was attacked.

Machete attack

Auapa’au confirmed that a young man is fighting for his life at the National Hospital at Moto’otua after sustaining serious injuries from a machete attack.

The accused appears before Court on 23 April, 2018.  The victim and the accused are both from Fasito’o-Uta.
