Top Australian delivers training

The staff of the Facilities Maintenance Division of the Legislative Assembly Office received much-needed training from a top Australian last week.

Construction Teacher, Vaughan Wakefield, won the Educator of the Year Award in 2016 from T.A.F.E. Queensland North in Australia.

He conducted a two-week specialised training from the Australia Pacific Technical College on facility management and maintenance. 

The training included occupational health and safety, maintenance programming and scheduling, and good maintenance standards and practices. 

The training is part of the Samoa Parliamentary Complex Redevelopment Project funded by the Governments of Australia and Samoa.

The participants received certificates last week.
