Leave the faifeaus alone

Dear Editor,

Re: Taxing pastors

The people in the Street Talk are still holding on to that respect for the Faifeaus and I applaud them for that.

I don’t know whether the Minister and his Ministry had done any thorough research on this issue. Within the many churches we now have, and the various ways they prefer to offer for the development of their churches including an offering for the Faifeau and his family.

Or were they moved by those people who just murmuring and doing nothing.

Or from the Faipules who have just attended churches for the sake of the voters. Or just another way for the Government to show their Power.

Just be reminded that the churches never forced nor threatened its members to give. It is by their own freewill.

The Minister and the Ministry should also ask the Faifeaus. I’m sure almost all of the churches, they are the ones who contribute the most for any development needed.

They could go way beyond whatever amount their churches offered through the help of their families and children. The Minister have zero knowledge of the Faifeaus and their Calling is all about. It’s not about money Minister.

The Head of State is appointed by the Parliament, so he should be taxed.

Don’t be fooled by the “ Poko Moko “ fai mai ai Pekelo.

Their are so many avenues that the Lord will show you for ‘pure revenues’ to help our country, but not from the servant’s pocket. For our Samoans - se soia ia kou ke lokoleaga i Faifeau.
