Boxing names team for Commonwealth Games

The Samoa Amateur Boxing Association has named Team Samoa for the upcoming Commonwealth Games in the Gold Coast, Australia.

The Fight for Marist last week was one of the final trials.

The team is coached by Lionel Elika Fatupaito, and assisted by Lautapa’a Ofe Wong King.

The Manager is Tavui Mikaele Lemisio.

 In the 64kg Light welter division, Samoa will be represented by Valenttine Kondakav currently based in Russia, while Henry Tyrell will be fighting for the 75kg Middle Weight division.

The Fight for Marist Main bout winner Ato Leau Plodzicki Faoagali based in Australia will be representing Samoa in the 81kg Light Heavy weight division, and Frank Masoe based in New Zealand will be fighting in the 91kg Heavy Weight division.

Non-travelling substitutes based in Samoa are Fa’asala Livai and George Petersen.
